From Crazy Fool: Portrait of a Punk - Brad Nowell
I went to the first gig I could find. It was at Fenders in Long Beach, and it was Brad's birthday party. Fenders was this crazy, punk rock club, where the people behind the bar would hand you bottles to pour your own drinks. They brought out a cake and had a big cake fight on stage.
